Opticore announces availability of direct CATIA V5 Interface to further improve the workflow and productivity for customers using CATIA V5 data in their design process.
Data capture and data preparation is a key area for Opticore and the support for direct CATIA V5 integration is in line with the strategy to improve overall workflow and productivity for the design process. CATIA V5 is widely used among Opticore clients and this interface will provide significant productivity increase for these clients.
Opticore has made the decision to use Spatial 3D InterOp as base for the Catia V5 converter implementation, due to its wide acceptance, their quality and the amount of supported converters available. Opticore CATIA V5 Interface will be available in production release for initial customer shipping first weeks of June 2006.
Opticore CATIA V5 interface will provide direct import capabilities in Opus Realizer and Opus Studio, as well as a standalone converter allowing batch conversion of CATIA V5 data to Opticore format. Following are examples of included capabilities:
- Direct import to Opus Studio and Opus Realizer or standalone batch conversion of CATIA V5 data
- Import of trimmed NURBS surfaces
- Layer Structure
- Basic color information
- Assembly structure, including part positioning and instancing
Opticore CATIA V5 interface is supported on the Windows platforms and does not require a CATIA V5 installation or license to run.
